Soya Paneer Sabji (Hard Soy Slices)

This hearty and nutritious curry features soya chunks and paneer cooked together in a spiced tomato gravy. It's a perfect dish for lunch or dinner, offering a satisfying alternative to meat-based curries.

Ingredients

  • Soya Chunks – 1 cup

  • Paneer – 200 grams, cut into cubes

  • Onions – 2, finely chopped

  • Tomatoes – 2, pureed

  • Ginger-Garlic Paste – 2 tsp

  • Green Chilies – 2, chopped

  • Cumin Seeds – 1 tsp

  • Coriander Powder – 1 tsp

  • Kashmiri Red Chili Powder – 1 tsp

  • Turmeric Powder – ½ tsp

  • Garam Masala Powder – 1 tsp

  • Salt – to taste

  • Fresh Coriander Leaves – for garnish

  • Oil – for cooking

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Soya Chunks: Boil the soya chunks in water for 5–7 minutes. Drain and squeeze out excess water.

  2. Fry the Paneer: Heat oil in a pan and lightly fry the paneer cubes until golden brown. Remove and set aside.

  3. Cook the Gravy:

    • In the same pan, add cumin seeds and let them splutter.

    • Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.

    • Stir in ginger-garlic paste and chopped green chilies; cook for 2 minutes.

    • Add pureed tomatoes and cook until the oil separates from the masala.

  4. Add Spices: Mix in coriander powder, Kashmiri red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook for 2 minutes.

  5. Combine Soya and Paneer:

    • Add the prepared soya chunks and fried paneer to the gravy.

    • Add a little water if needed to adjust the consistency.

    • Cover and simmer for 5–7 minutes, allowing the flavors.

  6. Finish the Dish: Sprinkle garam masala powder and mix well. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.

  • Roti or Paratha – Indian flatbreads
